5N/6D Itinerary
Gorakhpur – Gorakhnath Temple – Lumbini – Pokhara
Depart from Gorakhpur in our AC Tempo Traveller in the early morning. Begin the journey with a darshan at the sacred Gorakhnath Temple — one of the most revered Nath sect Shiva temples in India, dedicated to Guru Gorakshanath. Continue across the Indo-Nepal border at Sonauli and head to Lumbini — the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama (Lord Buddha), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Maya Devi Temple marking the exact birth spot, the Sacred Garden, the Ashoka Pillar, and the serene peace flame. After a lunch break, continue the scenic drive to Pokhara — Nepal's adventure capital nestled beside the Phewa Lake with the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges as a backdrop. Arrive by evening. Check in to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Pokhara.
Pokhara – Marfa Village – Gandaki River – Suspension Bridge – Muktinath
Depart early from Pokhara for the high-altitude drive towards Muktinath (approximately 5–6 hours). The route ascends through the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge — the deepest gorge on earth — flanked by Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, two of the world's highest peaks. En route, stop at Marfa Village — a picturesque Mustang Valley settlement famous for apple orchards, Tibetan-influenced white-washed architecture, and ancient monasteries. Cross the Gandaki River over a dramatic suspension bridge amidst breath-taking Himalayan scenery. Arrive in Muktinath (3,800 m / 12,467 ft). Check in to your hotel and acclimatise. Take a short evening walk to absorb the spiritual atmosphere of this high Himalayan town. Dinner and overnight stay in Muktinath.
Muktinath Darshan – 108 Dhara, Muktinath Temple, Holy Kund – Return to Pokhara
Rise early for the sacred Muktinath Temple darshan — one of the 108 Divya Desam Vishnu shrines and among the holiest sites in both Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. The temple complex is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Mukti-natha — Lord of Salvation) and sits at 3,800 metres in the Thorong La range. Begin your darshan at the 108 Muktidhara (108 Dhara) — 108 sacred water spouts shaped like bull heads, from which glacial Himalayan water flows. Devotees believe bathing in all 108 spouts washes away sins and grants moksha. Proceed to the Muktinath Temple Sanctum Sanctorum — Lord Vishnu is enshrined here as Mukti Narayana. Nearby, a natural flame rises from the ground (Jwala Mai) — a rare geological phenomenon considered sacred fire. Complete darshan at the Holy Kund — the sacred pond where devotees take a holy dip. After darshan and a hot breakfast, descend back to Pokhara by road. Arrive by evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Pokhara.
Pokhara – Manokamna Temple – Kathmandu
After breakfast, check out from Pokhara and drive towards Kathmandu (approx. 6–7 hours). En route, stop at the legendary Manokamna Temple (Manakamana Devi) — perched dramatically atop a ridge in Gorkha district at 1,302 metres. This is the sacred temple of Goddess Bhagwati (a manifestation of Parvati), believed to fulfil wishes (mano = mind, kamana = desire). Access the temple via cable car — a 10-minute scenic aerial ride over dense forest and the Trishuli River valley. After darshan and blessings, continue the drive to Kathmandu. Arrive by evening. Check in to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Local Sightseeing & Evening Market Visit
After breakfast, the morning is free for leisure or optional sightseeing. In the afternoon, visit Pashupatinath Temple — one of the holiest Shiva temples in the world, on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Continue to Boudhanath Stupa — the world's largest Tibetan stupa, surrounded by prayer flags and spinning wheels, a centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture in Nepal. Visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) for panoramic Kathmandu Valley views. In the evening, explore Thamel — Kathmandu's legendary bazaar district for shopping: pashmina shawls, Himalayan handicrafts, singing bowls, Thangka art, dried fruits, and Nepali teas. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu – Gorakhpur Drop (9:00 PM)
After early breakfast and hotel checkout, depart Kathmandu for Gorakhpur by road. Cross the Indo-Nepal border at Sonauli. Continue to Gorakhpur. Expected arrival at Gorakhpur by 9:00 PM. The journey concludes here, carrying with you the divine blessings of Muktinath, the spiritual grace of Manokamna, the peace of Lumbini, and memories of the Himalayan Mustang Valley — a pilgrimage that touches the soul.

About Nepal
Nepal is one of the most extraordinary travel destinations in the world — a small Himalayan kingdom that packs in towering mountain peaks, ancient temple complexes, vibrant living culture, and serene lakeside retreats within a compact geography. Home to eight of the world's ten highest peaks including Mount Everest, Nepal draws trekkers, pilgrims, families, and curious travellers from every corner of the globe. Kathmandu, the capital city, is a living museum of Newar art and architecture. Its UNESCO World Heritage Sites — including Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square — showcase centuries of Hindu and Buddhist coexistence. The city's narrow alleys, incense-scented air, and the constant sound of temple bells create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in South Asia. Pokhara, Nepal's second city, sits at the edge of Phewa Lake with a stunning backdrop of the Annapurna mountain range. Known for its laid-back cafes, adventure sports, and serene lakeside promenade, Pokhara offers a perfect counterpoint to Kathmandu's intensity. Sunrise views of Machapuchare (Fish Tail) and the Annapurna massif from Sarangkot are among the most photographed moments in Himalayan travel. For Indian travellers, Nepal holds a special spiritual significance — Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Shiva temples in the world, drawing thousands of Hindu pilgrims year-round. The en-route Manokamana Temple, accessible by cable car, is a powerful goddess shrine revered across the subcontinent. Nepal is also one of the most visa-friendly destinations for Indian citizens — no visa is required, and Indian currency (₹100 and above) is widely accepted. **How to Reach Nepal from India:** Direct flights connect Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Varanasi, and Lucknow to Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Flight time from Delhi is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Carriers include IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, and Nepal Airlines. Overland entry is possible at the Sunauli–Bhairahawa border crossing (for Pokhara) or the Raxaul–Birgunj crossing (for Kathmandu), both fully accessible to Indian nationals. **Weather:** Kathmandu sits at 1,400 m — temperatures range from 2–10°C in winter (December–February) to 25–30°C in summer. Pokhara at 822 m is warmer year-round. The monsoon season (June–September) brings heavy rainfall. October–November and February–April are the most comfortable months for sightseeing. **Local Transport:** Within Kathmandu, taxis and app-based rides (Pathao, InDrive) are the most convenient options. Metered taxis are cheaper but require negotiation — agree on price before boarding. In Pokhara, electric rickshaws and taxis cover Lakeside and the main attractions. The Kathmandu–Pokhara inter-city journey is best done by private vehicle or tourist bus (NPR 600–1,000 per seat on tourist coaches).
